Current status

PowerToolBench does not yet earn affiliate commissions. The site carries no affiliate links at this time, and no retailer program has been joined.

When that changes, this page changes with it. The plan is to fund the site through affiliate commissions: small payments from retailers when a reader buys a tool after clicking a link here. This page exists so the policy is settled and public before the first paid link ever appears.

How affiliate links will work

Affiliate marketing is straightforward. A reader clicks a retailer link on this site, buys something within that retailer’s cookie window, and the retailer pays PowerToolBench a commission. Cookie windows vary by program, commonly 14 to 60 days. The price a reader pays is identical whether the link gets used or the retailer’s homepage gets typed in directly.

Two commitments govern every affiliate link once they go live:

• Each link will carry a visible (affiliate link) label announced to screen readers next to the link itself.
• Each link will carry the nofollow and sponsored link-relation attributes that Google asks publishers to apply to paid links.

Affiliate clicks will route through /go/[slug]/ paths. That keeps the destination URL out of the article HTML, so a retailer swap does not require rewriting the piece, and it keeps every click destination documented and inspectable. A reader can hover any link to see where it lands.

None of this is active yet. The mechanisms above describe what a disclosed link will look like, not links that exist on the site today. No retailer program has been joined. The programs under evaluation route through standard affiliate networks (Awin, Impact, CJ Affiliate, Amazon), and this page will list each one by name, with its network, once an application is approved and links go live. Until then there is nothing to disclose beyond the fact that the site earns nothing.

Editorial independence policy

Affiliate commissions will not affect editorial decisions. The policy is fixed in advance, before any money is on the table, on purpose.

• Product selection: What gets featured in a comparison or buying guide follows reader-decision relevance, ecosystem coverage, and spec coverage. It does not follow which retailer pays what rate.
• Ranking: Buying-guide rankings state their criteria at the top of the article. Products rank on those criteria. They do not rank on commission rate.
• Verdicts: When a budget product beats a premium product for a use case, the verdict says so. When a higher-commission tool loses to a lower-commission tool, the verdict says that too.

Any departure from this policy gets stated clearly on the affected page. Some things the site will never do: run sponsored content disguised as editorial (any sponsored piece carries a “Sponsored” label at the top), sell placement in a ranking, hide affiliate links, or stuff cookies. Commission attribution will rely only on first-party clicks on visible, marked links.

FTC compliance commitment

PowerToolBench follows the Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsements and Reviews guides and the 16 CFR Part 255 rules. Once affiliate links exist:

• Material connections will be disclosed on every page that carries an affiliate link, above the first such link.
• Disclosures will be clear, conspicuous, and written in plain language.
• This page will stay linked from every footer.
• Any social post that carries an affiliate link will disclose the relationship.

How this site is funded

Right now, nothing funds PowerToolBench beyond the time spent building it. There are no display ads, no sponsorships, and no affiliate revenue. If display advertising launches later, that change gets disclosed here and in the privacy policy, alongside any cookie-consent requirements it triggers.
